Self assessment
Taking the pressure out of your tax return
It starts in late spring and builds throughout the year, reaching a crescendo at Christmas: a nagging feeling that you should have completed your tax return by now. One more burdensome task on your already too-long to-do list.
To add to the pressure, many taxpayers struggle to understand the complexity of their own tax returns, even if they ought to be fairly straightforward, and so fail to complete the paperwork correctly.
If your return is not filed by 31st January, you’ll have to pay a late filing penalty of £100 and then an additional £10 per day once your return has been outstanding for three months. After that, you’ll receive a further £300 penalty.
We can save a lot of time, anxiety and money by handling your self assessment on your behalf. We’ll do all the necessary calculations, complete the forms and advise you on how you can minimise your tax liability. We’ll also guide you through the payment process when HM Revenue and Customs has decided how much you owe.
If you’re having cashflow problems, we can advise you on how to explore the possibility of deferring payment or negotiating a payment plan with HMRC.
The important thing is to take this weight off your shoulders so you can focus on running your business, and living your life.
